About THE ARTIST

Arelis S. Quirk

Arelis Quirk is an artist primarily concerned on expressing herself through a medium of acrylic art using glass and other materials such as crystal, stones and shells. This medium is completed by using the application of resin, thus solidifying the art.

Over the years she has worked in acrylics, watercolors, perspectives, and sculpting. She has painted murals in France as well various art forms .

Arelis is a graduate architect, designer and artist. She studied at the University of Pennsylvania, the Old Lyme Art Academy in Connecticut, the school of Art of the Museum of Art in Boca Raton, Florida and at the Brigitte Brandeau Sculpting Academy in Paris, France.

She is also an art coordinator for Diego Barboza’s art, (www.diegobraboza.com) and organized exhibits at the Hollywood Florida Art Gallery and Galleries in London and Paris

COURSE OF STUDY

INTRODUCTION TO PAINTING WITH ACRYLICS ON CANVAS ADDING GLASS AND RESIN Students will learn to use glass, crystal, stones, or shells and other materials with their acrylic painting. The instructor will demonstrate how to place materials on acrylic art , highlight the art and provide guidance to students on their individual pieces of art, finalizing the art with resin. The use of resin solidifies the materials on the painting . When complete the resin brings out the color of the art as wells the materials used with it.

PHOTOGRAPHIC ART

How to use various materials and glass to photographs.The student’s individual photographic art will be highlighted with glass, colored crystal, various materials and covered with resin. The completion of this art will be sealed with resin. Students will bring a photograph of themselves, friends, graduations, weddings, pets or animals, and /or everyday colored photos. The photos will be transformed into photographic art using the various materials . The final touch of this art would be sealed with resin and present a long time piece of personal art.
